The President and Founder of the UP Tradition Institute, Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku, has raised concerns over what he describes as an unfair narrative surrounding the achievements and shortcomings of the Akufo-Addo–Bawumia administration.

According to Dr. Opoku, public discourse has consistently credited Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with policy successes while attributing failures solely to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his family members.

“Every success is credited to Akufo-Addo and Bawumia’s government, but every failure is credited to only Akufo-Addo’s government.

Every policy achievement is attributed to Dr. Bawumia, but every policy failure is attributed to only Akufo-Addo and his family members,” Dr. Opoku stated.

He further cautioned that such narratives, if left unchecked, risk undermining public confidence in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“These are the narratives we are forced to accept without questioning, else you become a target for what I call the ‘10 sins.’

If we continue on this path, it will be difficult for Ghanaians to trust the NPP again,” he warned.

Dr. Opoku’s remarks add to ongoing debates within the NPP about leadership accountability, communication, and perceptions of governance ahead of future political contests.
