Ghana and Germany are set to renew acquaintances in an international friendly as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The high-profile encounter will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 8:45 PM in Stuttgart, Germany.

The friendly forms a key component of both nations’ build-up to the Mundial, which will be jointly hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America.

Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann said the fixture presents an important tactical rehearsal ahead of the group-stage clash against Côte d’Ivoire, highlighting Ghana’s playing style as a valuable test.

“We are very much looking forward to the clash with Otto's team. Their strong transition play can give us a taste of what to expect in the World Cup group match against Ivory Coast,” he said.

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo also described the match as a crucial benchmark for his side as they fine-tune preparations for the tournament.

“This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world. Germany are a good side, and we can't wait to face them in Stuttgart.”

Addo, a Hamburg-born former Bundesliga professional, is no stranger to German football. The 15-time Ghana international won the German championship with Borussia Dortmund in 2002, adding a personal dimension to the encounter.

Ghana booked their place at the 2026 World Cup in convincing fashion, finishing as Group I winners, and will compete in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.

The four-time African champions first encountered Germany in a friendly in Bochum in 1993, ending in a 6–1 victory for Germany. Two subsequent meetings came at the World Cup: a 1–0 German win in the group stage at South Africa 2010, followed by a dramatic 2–2 draw in their group-stage clash at Brazil 2014.

The Stuttgart friendly promises another intriguing chapter in a rivalry shaped by World Cup history and high-stakes preparation.
