Jordan Ayew among senior players set to exit Leicester City

Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew is set to depart Leicester City at the conclusion of the current campaign, following the club's announcement that 10 senior squad members will leave when their contracts expire this summer.

Ayew is part of the group of departing players, which also features club captain Ricardo Pereira, Patson Daka, Jamaal Lascelles, and Wanya Marçal.

The 34-year-old forward moved to Leicester prior to the 2025/26 campaign and was utilized in various offensive positions throughout the year. He contributed six goals across 42 matches during Leicester’s Championship season.

Career Background and Stats

Before his stint with Leicester, Ayew spent six years with Crystal Palace, where he crossed the 200-appearance milestone. His extensive career in club football also includes spells with Swansea City and Aston Villa, following his professional debut with French side Olympique de Marseille. In total, he has accumulated more than 500 club appearances and registered over 100 career goals.

Squad Restructuring

Leicester City acknowledged and thanked the outgoing personnel in an official statement.

In addition to the permanent departures, the club noted that a number of temporary players will conclude their stays. Loanees Jordan James, Aaron Ramsey, Joe Aribo, Dujuan Richards, and Divine Mukasa are all scheduled to go back to their respective parent organisations.
