Partey playing through injury amid Villarreal struggles
Thomas Partey has been playing through a significant injury that has impacted his performances for Villarreal this season, according to reports.
According to ghanasoccernet, sources close to the Ghana international say he has been managing severe pubalgia for nearly two months, limiting his movement and affecting his ability to play at full capacity. Despite the discomfort, Partey remained available for selection as the club navigated a demanding period.
The condition also explains his absence from Ghana’s international fixtures in November against Japan and South Korea, after he was advised to focus on treatment and recovery.
His commitment has reportedly not been in doubt, with efforts centred on managing the injury while supporting the team where possible.
Partey, who joined Villarreal on a free transfer following the expiration of his Arsenal contract in August, has made 21 appearances across all competitions this season.
