Brigadier General Glover Annan Ashong takes office as new Customs Commissioner

His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Brigadier General Glover Annan Ashong as the new Commissioner of the Ghana Customs Service.
The appointment, made in accordance with the President’s prerogative, was announced during the Commissioner’s Pull-Out Ceremony held at the Customs Service headquarters in Accra.
During his acceptance speech, Brig. Gen. Ashong expressed his profound gratitude to the President for entrusting him with the significant responsibility of leading the Customs Division.
He acknowledged the importance of the role and pledged to work diligently with the staff to achieve the division’s goals.
“This appointment presents an opportunity and a duty for me to work alongside the men and women of the Customs Division to support the Commissioner-General in mobilizing revenue for national development,” Brig. Gen. Ashong stated.
He further assured the President, the Minister for Finance, and all Ghanaians of his unwavering commitment to building on the achievements of his predecessors.
Brig. Gen. Ashong emphasized his resolve to elevate the Customs Division to greater heights while contributing to the nation’s economic growth.
The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from the Customs Division and other stakeholders, who welcomed the new Commissioner with enthusiasm and pledged their support for his vision.
