ECG unveils “Operation Keep the Lights On” revenue mobilisation drive
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will commence a two-week nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise, dubbed “Operation Keep the Lights On,” beginning Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The exercise, which targets customers in arrears, will conclude on January 31, 2025.
During this period, ECG will focus on recovering outstanding debts from all categories of customers and inspecting the integrity of their electricity meters.
The company has also warned against self-reconnection after disconnection, describing it as a criminal offence.
To ensure the success of the operation, ECG announced that regional and district offices will operate with minimal staff to provide essential services while management and employees fully participate in the exercise.
In a statement, ECG emphasized that the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission’s LI 2413 grants the company full access to its installations.
Customers and the general public are encouraged to cooperate to facilitate the exercise.
The initiative forms part of ECG’s efforts to enhance revenue collection and ensure efficient service delivery across its operational areas.
