Foreign Affairs Minister directs envoys to begin exclusive serving of made-in-Ghana meals at all events

Preparations are underway for the 2025 edition of the Made-in-Ghana Bazaar, a flagship initiative aimed at promoting Ghanaian products and services on the global stage through strategic economic diplomacy.
The media launch of the event, held recently in Accra, officially kick-started activities toward the main bazaar, scheduled to take place from September 5 to 7, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
This year’s event is themed: “Championing Economic Diplomacy: Connecting Producers, Markets and Opportunities”, reflecting its mission to link Ghanaian producers with local and international markets, investors, foreign buyers, and diplomatic stakeholders.
Since its inception in 2018, the Made-in-Ghana Bazaar has served as a powerful platform to drive visibility for Ghanaian enterprises, especially Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs), by offering them opportunities to showcase and expand their reach.
Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, emphasised that the bazaar is an integral part of Ghana’s economic diplomacy strategy, designed to stimulate non-traditional exports and empower local businesses.
To reinforce this agenda, Mr. Ablakwa announced five new policy measures being introduced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
These include:
Introducing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Ghanaian ambassadors, with an emphasis on the active promotion of Made-in-Ghana goods in their host countries.
Mandatory promotion of Ghanaian products during National Day celebrations at all Ghanaian diplomatic missions abroad.
Exclusive serving of Made-in-Ghana meals at official state events hosted by the Ministry.
Initiatives to improve market access for Ghanaian MSMEs through diplomatic channels.
Strengthening collaboration with trade agencies and the private sector to expand the international footprint of Ghanaian brands.
The upcoming 2025 bazaar is expected to attract hundreds of local producers, investors, and international guests, all united in promoting Ghana’s rich array of goods and services to the world.
