President Mahama assents to amended bills to abolish Betting Tax, E-Levy and Emissions Tax

President John Dramani Mahama has signed into law a set of amended bills, including the Betting Tax, E-Levy Tax, and Emissions Tax, among others.
This move marks a major step towards fulfilling the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto pledge to abolish these taxes, aimed at reducing the financial burden on Ghanaians and fostering economic growth.
The decision to repeal these taxes aligns with the government’s commitment to creating a more conducive economic environment for businesses and individuals.
By removing these levies, the NDC administration seeks to boost disposable income and enhance economic participation, particularly among the youth and low-income earners.
President Mahama’s approval of the amended bills has been widely welcomed by stakeholders, who believe the abolition of these taxes will positively impact the livelihoods of many Ghanaians while encouraging entrepreneurship and investment.
The government has reiterated its dedication to implementing policies that alleviate economic hardships and support the well-being of citizens, as outlined in the NDC’s 2024 Manifesto.
