2Baba and wife Annie are getting divorced
According to Nigerian music star 2Baba, he and his wife Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while and are now escalating things to getting divorced.
The singer-songwriter and rapper said there would be an official press release on the matter later.
Known privately as Innocent Idibia, 2Baba said he was going to give details into the news, allowing fans to ascertain his guilty or otherwise.
He made this known via an Instagram (IG) post on Monday, January 27, 2025.
"Hello to my beautiful people of all Federations," he greeted, noting: "Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long… I and Annie Macaulay have been separated for a while now. And currently, filed divorce… I would grant a press release soon to say my story… Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life; but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all."
Though the above was deleted, a video was posted subsequently in which 2Baba confirmed the veracity of the earlier post's contents.
The couple have unfollowed each other on social media.
Actress and model Annie's marriage to 2Baba began in 2012 via a private ceremony. Their grand white wedding in Dubai took place the following year. Earlier, she appeared in 2Baba's African Queen music video in 2004, bringing her to the limelight.
Though the reason for their separation and upcoming divorce is not immediately known, Annie and 2Baba's marriage has been rocked by scandals of 2Baba having children with other women.
2Baba has infamously asserted men were wired to cheat.
