Kafui Danku: Actress appointed Executive Secretary of National Film Authority

President John D. Mahama has appointed actress, filmmaker, and entrepreneur Kafui Danku-Pitcher as the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA).
She replaces actress and entrepreneur Juliet Yaa Asantewaa Asante.
Just yesterday, Thursday, February 27, 2025, actor James Gardiner was announced as the Deputy Executive Secretary of the authority.
An executive producer at ABC Pictures Limited, Mrs Danku-Pitcher is an alumnus of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), holding a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English and Classics. She is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) at the University of Ghana (UG).
The former United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Repatriation Assistant, the author has been recognised by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) for Advancing the Role of Women in Politics, Peace and Security, and Economic Institutions, and holds mutiple awards including Tourism Personality of the Year 2024 and Most Outstanding Women Entrepreneur’s Rising.
Mrs Danku-Pitcher's Dream Achievers Project demonstrates her passion to see entrepreneurs and start-up businesses thrive. Her strengths have been observed in tourism, creative arts and economic empowerment.
Under the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Arts & Culture, the NFA is mandated to enforce the legal framework for the production, regulation, nurturing and development of the local film industry, ensuring a conducive environment for the local production, distribution, exhibition and marketing of Ghanaian films.
