The Ghana Police Service has taken another bold step in reinforcing national security and enhancing law enforcement professionalism with the graduation of 238 recruits from the Regional Police Training School in Ho.

The vibrant passing-out ceremony, showcased precision drills, tactical displays, and the resolve of the new recruits to serve the nation with integrity and discipline. The event was reviewed by Commissioner of Police (COP) Dr. Daniel Kwame Afriyie, Director-General of Private Security Organizations, who served as the Reviewing Officer.

The graduating class included 207 General Recruits and 31 Under Cadet Officers all males who successfully completed months of rigorous paramilitary and theoretical training under a new curriculum.

The comprehensive training covered practical policing, criminal law, crowd and riot control, motor riding, swimming, and driving.

COP Dr. Afriyie described the occasion as a turning point in the professional lives of the recruits, who now carry the weighty responsibility of safeguarding citizens and maintaining public order. “Your turnout and excellent standard of drills clearly show that you are ready to deliver on your mandate,” he remarked.

He praised the overall best recruit, G/R Emmanuel Amedome, for exceptional performance across all modules, urging all graduates to emulate his discipline and determination.

The Reviewing Officer also addressed the growing complexities of crime in today’s world, emphasizing that the police must stay ahead of evolving criminal tactics. “The modus operandi of criminals has changed. They now operate 24 hours, and so must we. I fully support the establishment of a 24-hour operational secretariat to strengthen our vigilance and response capacity,” COP Afriyie said.

He further called on the recruits to serve with humility, remain competent in their duties, and uphold the law at all times. “You are not masters of the people. You are their servants. Respect the law, respect the citizens, and serve with humility,” he advised.

The event attracted senior police officers, invited dignitaries, family members, and members of the public who gathered to celebrate the successful recruits.

The Ghana Police Service continues to position itself as a modern and dependable institution dedicated to the peace, safety, and security of all Ghanaians.
