The Yawhima Zongo Chief, Alhaji Shaibu Sumaila, has called for greater unity among Muslim chiefs in Yawhima to promote development and progress within the community

Speaking during the Sala celebration in Yawhima, Alhaji Sumaila emphasized that a lack of unity among the Muslim chiefs could hinder the town’s development, ultimately affecting the well-being of the Yawhima Zongo community.

He expressed concern that Yawhima Zongo chiefs are often excluded from government programmes and support, adding that a united front would enable them to effectively advocate for the community’s development.

“We need to come together as leaders to ensure that Yawhima Zongo is not left out of government initiatives. Unity will empower us to push for progress and address the needs of our community,” Alhaji Sumaila stated.

The chief also revealed plans to build a place of worship in Yawhima, appealing for government support to complete the project.

During the celebration, the Yawhima Chief Imam, Imam Sali, urged Muslims to live lives that please Allah, emphasizing the importance of righteousness and community harmony.

The Sala event brought together community members and leaders who gathered to celebrate and discuss ways to advance the Zongo community’s development.
