High Court reduces bail condition for former NSB Director-General and wife

The High Court in Accra has revised the bail conditions granted to Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the immediate past Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), previously known as the Bureau of National Communications (BNC), and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng.
The couple is being investigated on suspicion of causing financial loss to the state.
Presiding over the case, Justice Ruby Aryeetey reduced Mr. Adu-Boahene’s police inquiry bail from GH¢120 million to GH¢80 million.
The revised bail conditions stipulate that two sureties are required, with one of them providing justification.
The decision to adjust the bail amount follows legal representations made on behalf of the former NSB Director-General and his wife, as the court considered arguments regarding the proportionality of the initial bail conditions.
The case remains under investigation as authorities assess the financial dealings that led to the charges.
