The Minority in Parliament is demanding swift action from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) over a viral video showing Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the ruling NDC and Acting Chief  Executive Officer(CEO) of the Ghana Gold Board, allegedly handing over bundles of US dollars to Evangelist Patricia Asieduaa Oduro also known as Nana Agraada.

The Minority is calling on the GRA to ensure that Evangelist Oduro pays the appropriate taxes on what is believed to be a $10,000 cash gift, in accordance with Ghana’s Income Tax laws.

They further urged the GRA to reinforce its commitment to enforcing gift tax regulations and to take necessary steps to prevent tax evasion.

According to the Minority, the incident underscores the need for accountability and transparency in financial dealings, especially involving high-profile individuals.

They stressed that the GRA must act decisively to maintain public confidence in the country’s tax system and uphold the principle that no one is above the law.
