Volta Region explores youth empowerment partnership with Italian NGO aimed at SOS Europa digital literacy

In a drive towards international cooperation and youth empowerment development, the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has received a high-level delegation from SOS Europa, a reputable non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Rome, Italy.
The delegation was led by Mr Mattia Di Tommaso, President of SOS Europa, and the meeting was facilitated by the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afadjato South, Manfred Tawiah.
The engagement is aimed at youth empowerment, digital skills development, and cultural exchange, areas that are of strategic importance to the Volta Region’s long-term development agenda.
The engagement also underscored a mutual commitment to forging global partnerships that directly benefit young people in the region.
“SOS Europa has over ten years of experience working with young people across Europe through the Erasmus+ framework, and their visit marks a promising opportunity for collaboration with the Volta Region,” Gunu stated.
“This partnership aligns with our broader vision to open new doors for our youth and enhance community development.” he said
The visiting delegation from SOS Europa expressed keen interest in extending their youth focused programs to Ghana, starting with pilot initiatives in the Volta Region.
These initiatives are expected to enhance digital literacy, facilitate international cultural exchanges, and promote entrepreneurial growth among young people.
The visit marks the beginning of what both parties hope will be a long-standing and impactful partnership aimed at empowering the next generation through global exposure and skill development.
