Energy Minister finds some missing ECG containers at Shai Hills

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has made a significant breakthrough in the case of the missing containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
During an official visit to a warehouse at Shai Hills, the Minister discovered 40 of the missing containers, which contained vital electrical equipment intended for the country’s power sector.
The visit formed part of ongoing investigations into the disappearance of over 1000 containers, which has raised concerns about the security and management of state assets.
Speaking during the visit, Chief Superintendent Alhaji Alhassan, Director of Investigations at the National Security Council Secretariat, confirmed that the remaining missing containers were located at a second company, which authorities plan to inspect next.
He further revealed that a third company might also be involved, but it had taken considerable measures to conceal its involvement.
The discovery at Shai Hills marks a crucial step in unraveling the mystery of the missing ECG containers, and authorities are determined to hold those responsible accountable.
Investigations are ongoing, and the Ministry of Energy, in collaboration with the National Security Council Secretariat, is committed to ensuring that all containers are accounted for and that proper measures are taken to prevent future occurrences.
