The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it is going to "obtained and scrutinised immediately" a "documentary with the original transcripts" which allegedly shows "alleged malpractices in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) "in some schools".
In a statement signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations, GES, the service said it had taken notice of reports "particularly JoyNews TV of a possible screening" of the said documentary.
GES emphasised "its absolute aversion to examination malpractice".
"Cheating undemines the integrity of our education system, destroys meritocracy, and produces graduates who lack the competencies required for national development," the service explained.
GES assured it would "sanction any official of the service - teaching or non-teaching - found to have been involved in aiding or abetting cheating in the examination".
