National Education Forum Committee to submit final report by March

The committee, established by President John Dramani Mahama, has been engaging key stakeholders to gather insights aimed at transforming Ghana’s education system.
The group is chaired by Professor George K. T. Oduro, former Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, and is responsible for shaping the forum’s agenda, engaging stakeholders, and preparing a budget.
Providing an update on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Prof. Alabi confirmed the committee is in the final stages of consultation.
“Engagements are ongoing until the end of this month.
In March, we will compile all the evidence we have gathered and present a comprehensive report to the government through the Ministry of Education.
We anticipate that Parliament will determine how to proceed with implementation,” she said.
Meanwhile, President Mahama has assured stakeholders that recommendations from the forum will be taken seriously.
Speaking at the forum’s launch in Ho, Volta Region, he emphasized the government’s commitment to education reform.
“It must be our collective responsibility to make recommendations that are far-reaching, transformative, and necessary for developing the global Ghanaian. As a government, we are fully committed to this process.
Your recommendations will not gather dust on the shelf,” he stated.
The final report is expected to outline key reforms to enhance access, quality, and inclusivity in education, shaping the future of Ghana’s learning environment.
