Sekondi MP to launch free bus service for teachers and students in May

The Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency in the Western Region, Blay Armah Nyamekye, has announced the piloting of a free bus service for teachers and students in the constituency, set to begin in May 2025.
The full-scale implementation of the initiative is expected to roll out by September 2025.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Taadi FM’s flagship morning show, Good Morning Taadi, with Emmanuel Akomene Acheampong, Mr. Nyamekye emphasized his commitment to improving education accessibility in Sekondi.
“We are committed to making education accessible and convenient for our teachers and students.
This free bus service is just the beginning, and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on our community,” he stated.
In addition to the bus service, the MP also announced plans to distribute free books and pens to every student in the Sekondi Constituency.
This initiative will be funded through proceeds from the Sekondi sachet water business, which is expected to launch in two months' time.
Mr. Nyamekye believes these interventions will help reduce the financial burden on parents and guardians while promoting education and literacy in the constituency.
With these initiatives, the Sekondi MP is demonstrating a strong commitment to education and the welfare of his constituents, ensuring that both students and teachers receive the necessary support to thrive.
