The ongoing water shortage in the Ho municipality and its surrounding areas in the Volta Region is having a severe impact on education, as students are reporting to school late due to the crisis.
Speaking to some students within the municipality described the situation as unfortunate and critical.
Many explained that they are forced to walk long distances in search of water or spend hours in queues before securing enough for bathing.
In some cases, they are unable to find water at all, leading to them attending school without bathing or even missing school altogether.
Students are appealing to the government, stakeholders, and the Ghana Water Company Limited to urgently address the situation.
Meanwhile, teachers have also expressed their concerns, stating that the water crisis is affecting their daily activities.
Some revealed that they struggle to find water for basic needs, making their work even more challenging.
Educators and students alike are calling for immediate intervention to resolve the issue and restore normalcy to academic activities in the municipality
