Deputy Defence Minister chairs DIHOC board meeting on strategic partnerships

The Deputy Minister for Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, has chaired a board meeting of the Defence Industries Holding Company Limited (DIHOC) to explore potential partnerships with Cendana Malaysia and other private sector stakeholders in Ghana.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration to enhance DIHOC’s capacity in defence manufacturing and related industries.
Officials say the engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to position DIHOC as a key player in Ghana’s industrial development while also boosting the local defence sector.
The proposed partnership with Cendana Malaysia is expected to open opportunities for technology transfer, investment, and joint ventures that could advance Ghana’s defence production capabilities.
Discussions also examined ways to leverage the expertise of local private sector players to promote job creation, innovation, and economic growth.
Mr. Genfi, who is the board Chairman of DIHOC, reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting DIHOC’s mandate and ensuring that strategic partnerships translate into tangible benefits for both the defence sector and the wider Ghanaian economy.
The board noted that continued collaboration with international and domestic partners would be crucial in achieving DIHOC’s long-term vision of self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
