IGP promotes seventeen officers for exemplary service
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seventeen police officers, including two senior officers, in recognition of their exemplary conduct, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
The promotions were announced on 14th January 2026.
The elevation acknowledges the officers’ distinguished performance, particularly their commitment to operational excellence, discipline, and service to the nation.
The move is part of the Ghana Police Service’s broader effort to motivate personnel who demonstrate integrity and outstanding commitment in the line of duty.
IGP Yohuno, joined by members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the promoted officers, urging them to view their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility, leadership, and accountability.
He also encouraged all personnel to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, loyalty, and public service.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to recognising merit and rewarding excellence as a strategy to boost morale and enhance effective policing across the country.
