Mahama attends 29th Annual Quran Recital at Bambawia Islamic Institute

President John Dramani Mahama on Saturday joined the Muslim community in Tamale for the 29th Annual Quran Recital (Maulid) organised by the Bambawia Islamic Institute.
The spiritually significant event, held at the Institute’s premises, marked nearly three decades of dedication to the recitation and teaching of the Holy Quran—an effort that continues to foster spiritual growth, education, and unity within the Muslim community and beyond.
Addressing participants, President Mahama commended the leadership of the Bambawia Islamic Institute, particularly Sheikh Alhaji Mohammed Lukman Bamba, for their unwavering commitment to promoting Islamic education and upholding the values of the faith.
"I applaud Sheikh Lukman Bamba and the leadership of Bambawia for their tireless efforts in advancing Islamic education and moral values in our society," he said.
President Mahama used the occasion to emphasise the importance of adhering to the principles of the Holy Quran—particularly the values of peace, love, compassion, and unity—as essential ingredients for national development and social harmony.
"These are the values that should guide us as a people.
If we truly embrace them, we can build a more harmonious society and a prosperous nation, Ghana," he added.
The event brought together Islamic scholars, students, and community leaders from across the Northern Region, reinforcing the Bambawia Institute’s role as a key institution in the promotion of faith, learning, and communal cohesion.
