Mahama condemns killing of soldier in Bawku

President John Dramani Mahama has strongly condemned the recent killing of a Ghanaian soldier in Bawku, describing the act as unacceptable.
He emphasized that the military should not be targeted, especially in a conflict they are not directly involved in.
Speaking at Jubilee Park in Bolgatanga as part of his Thank You tour, Mahama expressed deep condolences to the family of the deceased soldier and sympathized with civilians who suffered injuries or assault during the military operation.
He reiterated the importance of unity and collective effort in driving national progress, stressing that peace and stability are crucial for development. He, therefore, called on all stakeholders to collaborate in restoring calm to the troubled region.
Mahama’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions in Bawku, where security forces have been deployed to maintain order. His call for peace underscores the urgent need for dialogue and cooperation in resolving the conflict.
