Ofankor-Nsawam road works to resume as contractor responds to Minister’s directive

Construction works on the Ofankor-Nsawam stretch of the Accra-Kumasi highway are set to resume following a firm directive from the Minister for Roads and Highways, Mr Kwame Governs Agbodza.
The contractor, who had temporarily halted operations on the key arterial route, has assured the Ministry of an immediate return to the site to continue work on the much-anticipated road project.
The Minister’s directive comes in response to growing public concern over delays on the busy highway, which serves as a major transport link between the southern and northern parts of the country.
Mr. Agbodza emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of strategic infrastructure to ease traffic congestion and boost economic activity.
“We will not accept any further delays. The people deserve results, and the contractor must deliver,” the Minister stated during a working visit to the site.
The contractor’s renewed commitment signals a potential acceleration of work on the dual carriageway, which is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve road safety upon completion.
The Ministry has pledged to maintain close oversight to ensure sustained progress on the project.
