President Mahama visits Yaa Naa as part of 'Thank You Tour

President John Dramani Mahama has paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa Naa Abubakari Mahama, at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi as part of his Thank You Tour following his victory in the 2024 elections.
During the visit, President Mahama expressed his deep appreciation to the Yaa Naa for his blessings and prayers, emphasizing the importance of first paying respects to the traditional leader before engaging other parts of the region.
Addressing a gathering of Chiefs and residents at the Gbewaa Palace, the President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the development of the Northern Region.
He highlighted the government’s ambitious 10,000-hectare irrigated land project, designed to boost agricultural productivity and address the challenges posed by climate change-induced erratic rainfall.
Meanwhile, President Mahama has defended his recent appointments, emphasizing that those chosen to serve in his administration are young, talented, and dedicated to leading Ghana through its economic recovery.
He assured the nation that his team is fully committed to tackling the country’s economic challenges and driving national transformation.
The President’s Thank You Tour continues, with engagements across various regions to express gratitude and discuss his government’s development agenda
