Health Minister reveals lack of dedicated funding for Agenda III hospital projects

The Minister of Health, Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has revealed that the much-talked-about Agenda III hospital projects initiated by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration have no dedicated funding sources.
According to the Minister, the total cost of the projects is estimated at $1.7 billion, with $400 million already spent and not a single project is operational.
However, an additional $1.4 billion is still needed to complete the hospitals.
During an inspection of the Trede and Kokoben hospital projects in the Ashanti Region, Mr Akandoh disclosed that $16 million is required to complete both facilities, with each project needing $8 million.
Despite the funding challenges, the Minister reassured the public of the government’s commitment to completing all unfinished hospital projects, including those under Agenda III.
