A-G’s press briefing on corrupt practices apt –Anti-corruption campaigner

Anti-corruption campaigner, Appiah Kubi, has commended the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, for his transparent approach in the fight against corruption.
According to him, the A-G’s decision to brief the press on ongoing investigations is an effective strategy, as corruption thrives in secrecy.
Speaking on Accra 100.5 FM’s mid-day news on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Appiah Kubi dismissed claims that the Attorney-General’s public disclosures on corruption cases were prejudicial.
Instead, he described the move as a step in the right direction, arguing that keeping the public informed would help prevent corruption from festering.
"Corruption does not thrive in openness. The A-G’s transparency in sharing updates on investigations will ensure accountability and discourage corrupt practices," he stated.
He urged Dr. Ayine to sustain this approach, emphasizing that such openness is essential in protecting the country’s scarce resources from mismanagement and embezzlement.
