A/R: Mahama visits Adum after devastating fire

President John Dramani Mahama has visited the Central Business District of Adum in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, to assess the aftermath of a massive fire that ravaged hundreds of shops.
The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Friday, March 21, left many traders devastated as they struggled to salvage their goods.
During his visit, Mahama engaged with the affected traders, offering his sympathies and assuring them of his support.
He stressed the need for urgent assistance to help those who have lost their livelihoods and called for a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire.
He also cautioned traders against cooking in the market, noting that the use of gas cylinders contributed to the severity of the blaze.
The fire, fueled by highly flammable materials stored in the shops, spread rapidly, making it difficult for firefighters to contain.
Their efforts were further hampered by obstructed access routes and delayed response times.
Some traders attributed the disaster to ongoing power outages, which they believe may have triggered the fire.
Mahama’s visit was met with appreciation from the traders, who expressed their gratitude for his concern and support.
