The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally acclaimed Baba Ali Yussif as its Parliamentary Candidate for the Ayawaso East by-election scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in the Greater Accra Region.

Following extensive consultations, the Party’s National Executive Committee constituted a Candidate Search Committee, chaired by former General Secretary Mr. John Boadu, which unanimously recommended Baba Ali Yussif as the most suitable candidate. This recommendation was subsequently endorsed at an expanded Constituency Executive Committee meeting and Delegates Conference held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, where he was unanimously acclaimed.

The NPP calls on all members and supporters to rally behind Baba Ali Yussif and urges the people of Ayawaso East to vote massively for him to ensure effective representation and development in the constituency
