Comfort Doyoe: Ada MP promises to bring Emeafa Hardcastle up to speed on Parliamentary protocols
Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, the Leader of the Women’s Caucus in Parliament and the First Deputy Majority Whip, has reacted to the controversial confrontation between the Acting CEO of the Petroleum Commission, Emeafa Hardcastle, directed at the Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh.
In a viral video, Emeafa Hardcastle was captured saying to Frank Annoh-Dompreh: “You are threatening me that you are taking me on because who are you? What do you mean by taking me on?”
“You called us a micro-minority,” Annoh-Dompreh responded.
“But you are a micro-minority. Doesn’t Afenyo-Markin himself use that phrase? Don't bring yourself. I don’t have time for that. You think you can bully me here?” Hardcastle came back.
Visibly upset, she was also heard saying, “I don't care. Not this silly...”
Annoh-Dompreh reacted, “You heard the word she used. She called me silly.”
The cause of the confrontation is not immediately known but it took place during a break in the Parliamentary Appointments Committee proceedings on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

Ada MP Comfort Doyoe has urged Annoh-Dompreh to withdraw his application to Speaker Alban Bagbin to escalate the issue to the Privileges Committee.
She assured she would handle the matter privately and ensure Hardcastle understood the protocols and proprieties of Parliament.
“Mr Speaker, as a leader of the women’s caucus in this Parliament, I will plead with the Chief Whip to leave the case to me. I am going to meet with the lady in question and advise her on how to handle issues. This is a case between a woman and a man,” Comfort Doyoe said.
“Mr Speaker, the woman has apologised already, so I am pleading with the Chief Whip to leave the matter to the women and me, as the head of the Women’s Caucus, to advise her on how to address issues when she is in our premises and Parliament.”
