Defence Minister calls out Assin South MP for allegations against Mahama's administration

Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has condemned the Member of Parliament for Assin South Constituency in the Central Region, Rev. Ntim Fordjour, for making what he describes as reckless and unfounded allegations against the administration of President John Mahama.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page on Friday, April 4, 2025, Dr. Boamah criticized the MP's remarks, suggesting they were driven by a desire for recognition within his party rather than being based on factual evidence.
Rev. Ntim Fordjour at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, revealed that the flights in question were Cavok Air’s Antonov-An 128B and AirMed flight N823AM.
He said the two aircraft reportedly landed at the KIA from Spanish Island, Gran Canaria, on March 12 and 20, 2025, respectively, before departing on March 25, 2025.
According to Rev. Ntim Fordjour, per the intelligence intercepted by the Minority, “there is no evidence of any medical referral or patient on board [AirMed an air ambulance].
Rather, our intelligence suggests that the aircraft was used to smuggle illicit cargo.”
The Minister accused Rev. Fordjour of spreading misinformation motivated by hatred and political ambition.
"How can a Reverend minister of God opt for the low road of politics characterized by sensationalism and smear campaigns?" Dr. Boamah questioned.
He urged the MP to "seek facts before you talk" and accused him of deliberately misleading the public.
The Defence Minister further noted that video evidence had disproven the MP’s claims about the landing of the aircraft, calling on Rev. Fordjour to "repent" and desist from making untruthful statements.
Dr. Boamah expressed disappointment that a figure with religious and political influence would resort to what he termed "low-road politics" and sensationalism.
He cautioned that the MP's quest for recognition among his party’s hardliners would ultimately fail, stressing the importance of truth and accountability in public discourse.
