Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has vowed that a future NDC government will prosecute individuals implicated in the controversial National Cathedral project.

Speaking during a campaign stop in Kaase, within the Asokwa Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Nketia underscored his party’s determination to ensure accountability for alleged corruption and abuse of power surrounding the project.

His remarks follow the findings of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), which recommended a forensic audit of the project and the prosecution of its trustees.

CHRAJ’s investigation revealed significant concerns regarding financial mismanagement and abuse of power by some individuals associated with the project.

Asiedu Nketia stated that an NDC-led government would not continue the National Cathedral project, which he described as a symbol of mismanagement and misplaced priorities under the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

“If we are elected in the December polls, we will ensure that every individual involved in the mismanagement of funds or abuse of authority linked to the National Cathedral project is held accountable and prosecuted,” he declared.

The NDC chairman reaffirmed his party’s commitment to transparency, responsible governance, and the judicious use of public resources, promising to restore trust in national institutions and safeguard the country’s financial integrity.
