Razak Kojo Opoku defends Bryan Acheampong, warns against “character assassination tactics”

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and key strategist for the Bryan Acheampong for President 2028 campaign, Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku, has cautioned against what he describes as deliberate attempts to tarnish the image of Dr. Bryan Acheampong through “Character Assassination Strategy (CAS).”
In a statement released on Tuesday on Facebook, Dr. Opoku argued that such tactics are often employed by “unstable competitors” who feel threatened by the rising influence and credibility of their opponents.
“An unstable competitor would always deploy Character Assassination Strategy towards you whenever you are becoming a threat to his ambition or an evil planned agenda,” he stated.
Dr. Opoku reaffirmed his confidence in Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s leadership qualities, describing him as the “best choice” to lead the NPP into the future and ultimately the country.
“Despite the distractions, Dr. Bryan Acheampong remains focused, disciplined, and results-driven.
He still remains the best choice,” Dr. Opoku emphasised.
The statement comes amid increasing speculation and internal debate within the NPP over potential flagbearers for the 2028 general elections.
Dr. Acheampong, who served as Minister for Food and Agriculture under former President Nana Akufo-Addo, is seen as a rising force within the party.
Dr. Opoku urged party members and the general public to remain vigilant and resist attempts to undermine competent leaders through smear campaigns.
