The Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has urged Ghanaians to reflect on and uphold the enduring legacy of her late father, former President Jerry John Rawlings, during the unveiling of a statue erected in his honour.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings described the monument as more than a physical structure, noting that it represents the values, principles, and ideals that her father dedicated his life to promoting.

She called on citizens, particularly the youth, to draw inspiration from the statue and recommit themselves to the principles of discipline, integrity, probity, accountability, and social justice.

According to her, the late President Rawlings devoted his life to the service of Ghana, advocating for transparency in governance and the empowerment of ordinary citizens.

She emphasised that honouring his memory goes beyond celebrating his achievements and requires a conscious effort by Ghanaians to live by the values he stood for.

Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings offered prayers that the statue would serve as a constant reminder of the former President’s vision for a fair and just society, inspiring present and future generations to put national interest above personal gain.

The unveiling ceremony attracted government officials, traditional leaders, party faithful, and members of the public, who gathered to pay tribute to the legacy of Jerry John Rawlings, one of Ghana’s most influential political figures.

The statue, now standing as a national symbol, is expected to preserve his memory and spark ongoing conversations about leadership, patriotism, and public service in Ghana.
