Gov't urged to support Apostle Kwadwo Safo to boost innovation

The government has been urged to extend stronger support to local innovators, inventors, researchers, and scientists, particularly Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, to help advance national development through homegrown solutions.
The call was made by Mr Owusu Badu, Personal Aide to Apostle Safo, who stressed the need for active collaboration between the state and the renowned inventor.
He argued that with the right backing, Apostle Safo’s innovations could be scaled to transform critical sectors of the economy.
“The government must identify specific innovations, work hand-in-hand with Apostle Safo, and provide the needed financial and logistical support to ensure these innovations benefit not just Ghana, but the world at large,” Mr. Badu said.
He pointed to agriculture and technology as key areas for collaboration, explaining that Safo’s breakthroughs could revolutionise farming practices, boost food production, and expand Ghana’s automobile manufacturing capacity through Kantanka Automobile.
Mr. Badu made the remarks during an event where Apostle Safo donated assorted items to the Kumasi Children’s Home as part of his birthday celebrations.
Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, widely celebrated as an inventor and industrialist, is the founder of Kantanka Automobile, a Ghanaian automotive company that has produced vehicles and other appliances locally.
Over the years, many Ghanaians have appealed to successive governments to provide stronger support for his work, lamenting the limited state recognition and investment in his pioneering innovations.
