Prof Nana Aba Appiah Amfo: UG vice chancellor wins tennis contest
The University of Ghana (UG) Corporate Tennis Championship served up thrilling action on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the UG tennis court.
The event brought together top corporate institutions for a day of fun, fitness, and networking.
Participating companies included the Volta River Authority (VRA), Stanbic Bank PLC, GOIL, and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), all displaying great teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the event.
The tournament opened with a curtain-raiser match that featured the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, who teamed up with the President of the Ghana Tennis Federation, Mr Joshua Duah, to face Miss Maame Araba Amfo and Professor Richmond Nii Okai Aryeetey, the Collaborative Lead of UG Nkabom.
The exhibition match was played as a one-set contest ending 6–2 in favor of Team VC (Vice Chancellor), who thrilled spectators with their energy on the court.

The event was organised by the University of Ghana Sports and Wellness Directorate in partnership with RITE Sports Services, with support from GOIL, Verna Water, Penfield School, and the Ghana Tennis Federation.
