Angela List not owner of Adamus Ghana – Adamus Resource Ltd clarifies
Adamus Resources Pty Ltd (Adamus Australia) has strongly refuted media reports alleging an attack by armed individuals on the premises of Adamus Resources Limited (Adamus Ghana) in Essiama.
The company described the reports, which were published by multiple media outlets, as “completely false and misleading
In a statement issued on December 16, 2024 and signed by Allan Roy Morrison, Sole Director and Secretary of Adamus Australia, clarified that the alleged incident was a peaceful visit to the mine site by an Interim Management Committee (IMC) set up under a court order.
He accused the current management of Adamus Ghana of spreading misinformation to distract from the real issue—a legal dispute over the ownership of the company.
Adamus Australia owns 90 per cent of the issued shares of Adamus Ghana.
The company stated that a fraudulent share transfer agreement had been orchestrated in 2022 by Angela List, a former nominee to Adamus Australia’s board, to transfer shares to Nguvu Mining Limited.
However, the Australian courts later ruled that Angela List had no authority to act on behalf of Adamus Australia, nullifying her claims.
The share transfer became the subject of litigation in Ghana, leading to a High Court order creating an IMC to oversee the operations of Adamus Ghana.
The court also restrained Angela List and her affiliates from managing the company.
Despite this, the IMC has faced significant resistance in executing its mandate, according to Adamus Australia.
On December 12, 2024, members of the IMC visited the Essiama mine site to observe operations and address concerns about the alleged smuggling of gold, non-payment of contractors, and outstanding tax obligations.
Adamus Australia stressed that the visit was peaceful, involving no armed individuals except officers from the Ghana Police Service and Adamus Ghana's private security.
The IMC team was initially denied access to administrative areas but was eventually allowed to meet some company officials.
“No property was destroyed, and there were no violent clashes as falsely reported.
The mine site remains accessible to anyone wishing to verify these claims,” the statement noted.
Adamus Australia accused Angela List of using her political connections to obstruct the IMC’s work.
