DVLA CEO pays surprise visit to Plaspack PVTS, announces plans for new ultra centre in La

The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, paid an unannounced visit to Plaspack PVTS, located in La, behind Zenith University.
The visit formed part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with private sector operators and improve access to DVLA services across the country.
During the inspection, Mr. Kotey toured the facility to assess its operations and readiness to support the Authority’s service expansion plans.
He also used the opportunity to formally announce DVLA’s decision to establish a new Ultra Centre in the La community, which will be managed in collaboration with Plaspack.
According to Mr. Kotey, the upcoming Ultra Centre will bring DVLA services closer to residents and motorists within the area, helping to decongest existing centres and improve efficiency.
“This visit provided an important opportunity to inspect the facilities and formally assure Plaspack of our commitment to establishing an Ultra Centre that will serve the La community,” the DVLA CEO said.
The owner of Plaspack expressed strong enthusiasm about the partnership and pledged full support to ensure the success of the new centre.
Mr. Kotey commended the company’s readiness and emphasised the DVLA’s ongoing strategy to promote Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) aimed at expanding the Authority’s service footprint nationwide.
“We eagerly anticipate more private-public partnerships to enhance the accessibility of our services,” he added.
The planned Ultra Centre is expected to boost convenience for drivers and vehicle owners in La and surrounding communities, reinforcing the DVLA’s mission to deliver world-class licensing and vehicle registration services across Ghana.
