GEXIM Bank CEO calls for action to drive Ghana’s economic growth at Kwahu Business Forum
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export-Import Bank, Sylvester Mensah, has called for renewed commitment to translating Ghana’s economic vision into tangible outcomes, as he delivered the keynote address at the Kwahu Business Forum 2026.
Speaking on the theme, “From Vision to Impact: Realising Ghana’s Economic Potential through Strategic Support and Innovation,” Mr. Mensah emphasised the need to move beyond policy discussions to concrete action that delivers jobs, increased production, and export growth.
He noted that Ghana’s development agenda, under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama, is focused on turning strategic vision into measurable economic gains.
Highlighting the impact of the previous forum, Mr. Mensah disclosed that three participating businesses—Perferct End Logistics, Nobi Farms, and Rockmar Pharmaceutical—have secured approval for financial support from the Bank, describing it as a clear example of progress from dialogue to implementation.
He reiterated that the Bank’s core mandate remains to “produce more, process more, and export more,” stressing that targeted interventions, innovation, and strong partnerships are key to building competitive value chains and a resilient economy.
Mr. Mensah expressed optimism about future editions of the forum, noting expectations of stronger collaboration, more viable investment projects, and increased success stories of Ghanaian businesses expanding and creating jobs.
He also commended the organisers and sponsors of the forum for sustaining a platform that continues to promote meaningful engagement between stakeholders in the business ecosystem.
“The opportunity is real, and the time to deliver is now,” he stated.
