The Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, has led a strategic engagement with the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) to discuss tax reforms and strengthen collaboration with the business community.

The meeting, hosted in partnership with the Chamber and led by its President, Stephane Miezan, provided a platform for stakeholders to interact directly with officials on key tax and customs policies.

Participants attending both physically and virtually sought clarification on issues relating to Value Added Tax (VAT) administration, customs operations and ongoing digital reforms within the revenue sector.

Discussions also focused on innovations under the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS) and other technology-driven initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, transparency and revenue mobilisation.

Officials noted that the engagement forms part of broader efforts to deepen collaboration between the tax authority and the private sector while addressing concerns affecting businesses.

The GRA reaffirmed its commitment to modernising tax administration and creating a more responsive system that supports compliance and economic growth
