The Ga East Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region has surpassed its Internally Generated revenue target for the 2025 fiscal year, signaling improved financial performance and strengthened local revenue mobilisation.

The announcement was made during the Assembly’s first Town Hall meeting of 2026, held at the Dome Pentecost Church, where residents and stakeholders gathered to review progress and discuss ongoing development initiatives.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Edmund Agboh, attributed the achievement to enhanced revenue collection strategies and increased compliance among residents in paying rates and levies.

“This achievement reflects the dedication of our revenue teams and the continued support of residents who honour their civic responsibilities,” he said.

Mr. Agboh noted that exceeding the revenue target would enable the Assembly to scale up investments in key sectors, including road infrastructure, sanitation, and education.

He also reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the use of public funds, adding that regular town hall meetings would be sustained to deepen citizen participation in governance.

Residents at the meeting were given the opportunity to raise concerns and offer suggestions to improve service delivery across the municipality.

The Assembly has in recent years intensified efforts to broaden its revenue base through innovative measures and partnerships aimed at improving property rate collection and overall fiscal performance.
