Ghana EXIM Bank CEO highlights export growth agenda at UK–Ghana trade breakfast meeting
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export–Import Bank (Ghana EXIM Bank), Sylvester Mensah, has underscored the Bank’s commitment to supporting Ghanaian exporters through expanded financing, compliance support and strategic partnerships.
Mr. Mensah made these remarks when he attended a breakfast meeting as a special guest at the residence of the British High Commissioner to Ghana.
The event was organised by the UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC) in collaboration with the British High Commission and brought together key stakeholders from Ghana’s trade and investment ecosystem.
Held under the theme “Supporting Ghanaian Exporters through Compliance, Capital and Collaboration,” the meeting provided a platform for Mr Mensah to outline Ghana EXIM Bank’s strategic priorities for the next four years.
He highlighted key focus areas, including rice production, poultry, and the garments and apparel sector, alongside the Bank’s continued efforts to expand funding support for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
Discussions at the meeting also emphasised the importance of compliance with international standards, access to affordable capital, and stronger collaboration between public and private sector actors to enhance Ghana’s export competitiveness.
Mr. Mensah noted that robust UK–Ghana partnerships remain critical to driving trade, investment and export-led industrial growth, adding that Ghana EXIM Bank is focused on unlocking financing opportunities and building strategic collaborations that enable Ghanaian businesses to scale and compete effectively in global markets.
The breakfast meeting was attended by several high-profile participants, including the Managing Director of Absa Bank Ghana, the Chairperson of the UK Ghana Chamber of Commerce, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), and representatives from Blue Skies, ConShip and other organisations committed to advancing Ghana’s economic and export development agenda
