Ghana Medical Trust Fund raises over GHS76,000 in February fundraising drive
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has raised a total of GHS76,910, €1,000 and $570 through a February fundraising drive aimed at supporting families battling Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
According to the Fund, contributions were received from individuals and groups across Ghana and abroad, with donations made through mobile short code *255# and direct bank transfers.
Officials say the funds mobilised will provide life-saving assistance to patients and families facing conditions such as cancer, kidney failure, heart disease and diabetes.
In a statement expressing appreciation, the Fund's Administrator Adwoa Oboubia Darko-Opoku, extended gratitude to all donors, noting that every contribution—regardless of size—would have a tangible impact on vulnerable households struggling with the financial burden of chronic illnesses.
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund forms part of broader national efforts to strengthen healthcare financing and expand access to treatment for Non-Communicable Diseases.
The public has been encouraged to continue supporting the initiative by dialing *255# on all networks or making direct transfers to the Fund’s designated accounts at the National Investment Bank, Airport Branch, and First Atlantic Bank, Head Office Branch.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the resources mobilised translate into meaningful healthcare support for those in need.
