Ghanaian businessman, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, has pledged to establish a cement distribution and construction hardware depot for Emmanuel Asamoah, a Ghanaian reportedly affected by xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

The intervention comes days after Mr. Mahama assured the Minister for Foreign Affairs of his readiness to support Ghanaians impacted by the situation in South Africa.

During a meeting held at his office with Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Mr. Mahama appealed to Ghanaians living in South Africa to consider returning home to contribute to national development through employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.

He encouraged Ghanaians facing difficulties abroad to return to Ghana to either learn a trade or venture into business, assuring them of his willingness to provide support based on their skills and interests.

As part of the support package, Mr. Mahama presented Emmanuel Asamoah with GHS 200,000 to enable him reunite with his family for one month before relocating to Accra to begin his new hardware business venture.

Mr. Asamoah reportedly chose to transition into the construction hardware business after leaving behind his nails and hairdressing business in South Africa.

Mr. Mahama also commended Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa for his commitment and dedicated service towards the welfare of Ghanaians living in the country.

He further encouraged Emmanuel Asamoah to remain focused, disciplined, and determined as he begins a new phase of life back in Ghana
