NEIP launches cashew project to drive local industrialisation in Ahafo Region
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme, Eric Adjei, has announced the launch of a cashew development project aimed at boosting industrialisation and sustainable livelihoods in his home region.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Mr Adjei expressed pride in investing in the area that nurtured him, describing the initiative as a strategic step toward transforming local economies.
According to him, the project seeks to move beyond the traditional export of raw cashew products by empowering local communities to participate across the entire value chain, including processing and value addition.
He noted that the initiative is aligned with broader efforts to promote industrial growth, create jobs, and ensure long-term economic benefits for local populations.
Mr Adjei also highlighted the importance of collaboration, stating that the project is being undertaken in partnership with traditional leaders and key stakeholders to ensure its success and sustainability.
The NEIP CEO emphasized that prioritising industrialisation and leveraging natural resources effectively will help convert local potential into lasting prosperity for communities.
The cashew project is expected to contribute to job creation, enhance local enterprise development, and strengthen Ghana’s position in the global cashew market.
