NPA boss reaffirms commitment to safety standards at GOIL HSSEQ Week
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority(NPA), Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, has reiterated the Authority’s commitment to strengthening health, safety, security, environment, and quality (HSSEQ) standards within Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
Mr. Tameklo made the remarks as Special Guest at the 2026 HSSEQ Week celebration hosted by GOIL PLC at the GOBitumen Terminal in Tema.
The week-long programme, held under the global theme of the International Labour Organization World Day for Safety and Health — “Promoting a Positive Psychosocial Working Environment” — brought together industry players, regulators, and staff to promote collaboration and share best practices.
Mr. Tameklo commended GOIL for its leadership in embedding HSSEQ principles across its nationwide operations, describing the initiative as a benchmark for the industry.
He emphasised that the Authority will continue to provide strong regulatory oversight and guidance to ensure companies in the sector maintain high standards of compliance and operational excellence.
