Ebo Noah clarifies viral flood message was creative content, not prophecy
Social media personality Ebo Noah has clarified that he is neither a prophet nor a pastor, stressing that his widely circulated “flood” message was not a prophecy but creative content inspired by a personal dream.
Speaking in an interview on Accra 100.5 FM's Citizen Show hosted by Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Tuesday, Ebo Noah explained that the message, which sparked widespread public debate, was based on a vision he had in his sleep and was intended to draw attention to human behaviour and environmental issues, particularly flooding.
“I am not a prophet and I am not a pastor. I simply saw in my sleep that there was going to be heavy rainfall, and I introduced the ark purely as a creative concept,” he said.
He noted that divine inspiration is not exclusive to religious leaders, adding that revelations can come to anyone, regardless of their role or status.
According to him, the dream involved intense rainfall that resulted in widespread flooding, with people scrambling for safety.
“All I saw was water falling. It had rained and flooded the country. The message I received was to go and tell the people to change,” he explained.
He added that in the vision, many people attempted to climb onto a single building to escape the floodwaters, symbolising limited options when disaster strikes.
“When it rained, everyone wanted to stand on top of one house, but we couldn’t all fit there.
So the message was for people to change,” he said.
Ebo Noah said he used the experience to highlight how poor sanitation practices and unchecked human behaviour contribute to flooding.
“When people dump rubbish into gutters and build in waterlogged areas, they should change. If these practices stop, flooding will reduce,” he stressed.
Using a moral analogy, he emphasised personal accountability, noting that wrongdoing becomes troubling when exposed, but harmless actions bring peace even under scrutiny.
He further clarified that the “ark” featured in his videos was symbolic and not part of the original dream.
“I did not see an ark in the vision. When I say the ark is in front of you but you can’t see it, it means God. The ark represents faith and preparation,” he explained.
He said he deliberately avoided mentioning any specific location because the ark symbolised spiritual readiness, drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Noah.
Ebo Noah also revealed that the boat used in the viral videos was discovered during a funeral he attended.
He said the structure, originally referred to as a boat, was renamed the “ark” for creative purposes.
“There was competition in the town with people building boats. I saw one in a bush, spoke to the owner, and explained my vision.
He later allowed me to use it,” he said.
He disclosed that earlier promotional videos using the boat did not gain attention until he incorporated the dream narrative into his content, which then went viral.
Following the online success, the boat owner encouraged him to continue producing similar content.
Despite the attention, Ebo Noah insisted that his message is not prophetic but a call for awareness, responsibility and behavioural change, particularly in addressing environmental challenges such as flooding.
