The German Embassy in Accra has officially confirmed the long-standing marriage between Highlife icon Charles Kwadwo 'Daddy Lumba' Fosuh and Akosua 'Serwaa' Fosuh.

The official document, titled 'Consular confirmation regarding the German marriage certificate,' issued on Monday, October 27, 2025, categorically stated that “according to German civil law there exists a valid marriage” between the abovementioned pair.

The 21-year marriage between Daddy Lumba and Akosua Serwaa, formally registered in the German marriage registry office under the number E 142/2004, the document noted, began on Thursday, December 23, 2004, in Bornheim, Germany.

The document also indicated the marriage had been terminated, but not via divorce.

The German Embassy explained Mr and Mrs Fosuh's marriage “ended with the decease of the husband on 26.07.2025”.

The document, signed by Susan Lüdtke, Second Secretary/Consul and Head of the Legal and Consular Section, clarifies Akosua 'Serwaa' Fosuh is the legal and surviving spouse of Daddy Lumba, an important detail which is critical for estate matters, pension claims, and other legal processes in both Germany and Ghana.

The German Embassy noted a copy of the marriage certificate was attached to the document.
