Sarkodie breaks silence on Stonebwoy's cryptic tweet, rejects claims post was aimed at him
Award-winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has addressed the speculation surrounding a recent social media post by Stonebwoy that sparked debate across the entertainment industry.
The controversy began after Stonebwoy shared a cryptic message on X, criticizing what he described as hypocrisy and fake relationships within the creative arts space. The post quickly gained attention, with many social media users suggesting it was aimed at Sarkodie and Shatta Wale following their recent public reunion and appearance at Kweku Smoke's concert in London.
Speaking during an interview with Nigerian media personality Adesope Olajide, Sarkodie rejected the assumptions, stating that people often misinterpret social media posts without knowing the true intentions behind them.
According to the rapper, he would rather hear directly from Stonebwoy if there was an issue involving him and Shatta Wale instead of relying on public speculation.
Sarkodie explained that he has experienced similar situations in the past where ordinary comments were wrongly linked to unrelated matters. For that reason, he said he prefers not to jump to conclusions about messages shared online.
The rapper noted that unless Stonebwoy personally clarifies the meaning of the post, he sees no reason to assume it was directed at him.
Beyond the controversy, Sarkodie expressed concern about what he described as a recurring trend in Ghana, where positive achievements and celebratory moments are often overshadowed by unnecessary distractions and public drama.
He suggested that these controversies sometimes take attention away from the hard work and progress made by individuals and the country as a whole. Stonebwoy's message not directed at me -Sarkodie(headline)
